About Lisa Roper Equestrian

Lisa Roper was 7 months old when her Grandfather, former Arsenal and England footballer Don Roper, sat her on a pony.  Little did Don know what he had started?

From that moment on Lisa never gave up wanting her own horse. It took until her 21st birthday when her parents bought her first horse “Ricky”.  Lisa and Ricky learnt together and successfully competed up to Intermediate Level eventing.

It was in 1987 when Lisa moved Ricky to Dave Davies’ livery yard in Twyford that she met his son Tim who started to train her.  “I used to cry after every lesson!”  Tim found this hilarious and this is how their special friendship started. It  was when Lisa was looking to replace Ricky that Dave asked if she would like to start breeding with the family.
